Collaborative Development of a Dedicated Sound Source for the “Wellbeing Room”
By Composer Conisch and Associate Professor Yasuhiro Suzuki of Nagoya University
— First introduced at Kaga Electronics Headquarters, offering a new experience of “simply being, and finding balance” —
Background and Development
In today’s working environments, there is a growing demand for “high-quality rest in a short time” and “smooth shifts in awareness.” In response, a new spatial sound source has been created through cross-disciplinary collaboration between music and science, designed to gently engage with the human inner state.
Soranone Inc. (Co-CEOs: Hiroaki Konishi and Ayano Konishi, based in Hachioji, Tokyo; hereafter “Soranone”) collaborated with Associate Professor Yasuhiro Suzuki of the Graduate School of Informatics at Nagoya University, and developed an original, fully commissioned music suite titled EARTH — Resonance of Love, composed by Conisch, an in-house composer at Soranone.
This work was officially introduced on August 27, 2025, in the newly established Wellbeing Room at Kaga Electronics Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo), and has begun operation in a real-world environment.
What is the Wellbeing Room?
The Wellbeing Room is a next-generation rest space born from the concept of “scientifically designing balance.” It is designed with the aim that one can achieve harmony of mind and body “simply by being there.” Multiple environmental elements—carefully tuned to gently stimulate the five senses and influence human sensibility and the nervous system—are intricately combined, allowing users to experience deep relaxation and mental reset within a short time.
Among these elements, “sound” plays a particularly vital role. Using natural environmental recordings, low-frequency components are extracted and refined, then presented not only as auditory input but also as tactile vibrations felt throughout the body. This is combined with TerraSonic, a new three-dimensional acoustic technology invented through pioneering research on natural low-frequency sounds by Associate Professor Suzuki and the Tactile DX Lab. Together, they provide an unprecedented wellness experience.
The fully commissioned music by Conisch, introduced in this initiative, serves as one of the core elements of the space.

Research Background and Development Process
This project was born in the context of re-evaluating music not merely as “background music,” but as a functional environmental element with the potential to influence human senses, emotions, and neural systems.
Associate Professor Yasuhiro Suzuki of Nagoya University has been conducting research in “Kansei Informatics” and “Tactile Informatics,” which encompass skin sensation and texture perception. His work investigates the structures of sensory stimuli that the human body perceives as “pleasant,” as well as the ways in which sound and vibration affect both mind and body. Notably, his concept of the “Tactile Score”—a temporal expression of tactile stimulus structures—suggests new approaches distinct from conventional music.
Against this background, composer Conisch carefully designed musical time structures, acoustics, and melodies aimed at gently influencing the inner state and bodily sensations. The result is a suite of three movements positioned as “music as environment itself.”

About EARTH — Resonance of Love
The specially created sound source is not mere background music, but an artistic work designed to support the experience of “simply being, and finding balance.” It aims to quietly engage with bodily sensations and inner awareness through hearing, blending seamlessly into the space to provide deep rest, moments of introspection, and a sense of renewal to those who visit the Wellbeing Room.
This work, EARTH — Resonance of Love, was composed and arranged by Conisch, inspired by perspectives from Kansei Science and symbolic elements of the natural world. Dialogues with Associate Professor Suzuki informed the themes woven into the work: “sensation and emotion,” “the individual and nature,” and “healing and awakening.”

I. OCEAN of Origin and Liberation – The Ocean of Creation and Release
II. FOREST of Mystery and Symbiosis – The Forest of Mystery and Coexistence
III. AIR of Grace and Awakening – The Sky of Grace and Remembrance

Introduction at Kaga Electronics
This dedicated sound source was first implemented at the Tokyo headquarters of Kaga Electronics Co., Ltd., in its newly established Wellbeing Room. It is used as a central component of an integrated design of sound, light, and space, serving the purpose of providing employees with short breaks and refreshment.

Future Prospects
Following its initial introduction at Kaga Electronics headquarters, the Wellbeing Room music suite EARTH — Resonance of Love is planned to be rolled out to other companies and facilities. By integrating music and science, we aim to expand this new type of spatial experience and contribute to the realization of wellbeing in working environments.
In addition, as part of this initiative, we are currently developing music for pets. Beyond use in pet shops, grooming salons, and pet hotels, we envision offering it as a “co-listening” experience where owners and pets can enjoy music together—providing comfort and relaxation for both humans and animals. This endeavor is expected to create a significant new impact, broadening the Wellbeing Room concept into the pet domain.

Profiles
Yasuhiro Suzuki
Associate Professor, Graduate School of Informatics, Nagoya University. Ph.D. (Informatics, Kyoto University).
His wide-ranging research spans from the origins of life to infectious diseases, from molecular-level phenomena to whole biological systems. He has emphasized that tactile interactions—“touching and being touched”—constitute a universal language of nature, and proposed the “Tactile Score” as an informatics framework.
Building on this, he has pioneered “Tactile DX (Digital Transformation),” establishing tactile and kansei informatics, and leads the international “Tactile DX Lab,” which fosters cross-disciplinary collaborations across art, science, technology, and healthcare. His work in healthcare was recognized with the Outstanding Leadership Award at Health 2.0, one of the world’s largest health-tech conferences, held in Dubai in 2024.

Conisch
A composer, pianist, producer, and conductor engaged in multi-faceted artistic activities. His music, known for its rich emotional expression and lyrical yet catchy melodies, has been acclaimed for its ability to resonate deeply with characters’ emotions. He has composed for numerous popular television programs.
In April 2023, he was appointed as composer for the new TV anime series of the world-renowned game Pokémon. He also composed the main theme for TBS’s daytime program Hiruobi!—a theme beloved in Japanese households for over 16 years since the program’s inception in 2009.
Through his “SEE THE SOUND” project, themed on “art and music,” he has collaborated with globally recognized artists such as painter and sculptor Jun Kyu Muto, and Shiseido’s top hair and makeup artist Tadashi Harada. He has produced music for all areas, including retail spaces, of the Art Aquarium Museum GINZA at Ginza Mitsukoshi, and composed works for projects involving leading figures such as architect Kengo Kuma and ikebana master Shogo Kariyazaki.

Soranone INC.
Soranone was founded in 2016 by composer/pianist Conisch and Ayano, an architect and trained vocalist, to bring Conisch’s original and distinctive music to audiences worldwide. The company engages in a wide range of music production, spanning art, media, and performance.
